Happy Fourth of July!

I hope everyone is having an awesome Independence Day so far!  You may remember our little neighborhood bike parade from last year.  This years parade was (surprisingly) sunnier than last years, regardless of the fact that there’s a hurricane currently running up the Eastern coastline.  Our prayers are with everyone in Hurricane Arthur’s path.

Ready to RideA big thank you to our Alpharetta Firefighters for coming out and leading our parade.  It certainly wouldn’t be as fun without you.

Our wonderful firefighters. And the cutest Captain America EVER.

Our wonderful firefighters. And the cutest Captain America EVER.

As you all may remember, my mom (the Grand Poobah of the neighborhood bike parade) gets the honor of riding in the truck, honking the horn, and waking up EVERYONE who dares to try and sleep through the parade.

Leading the Parade

All kids, parents, bikes, and even a few dogs were decked out in their most patriotic red white and blue.

And, of course, the best part of our little parade is the end when you reach these smiling, wonderful faces:

They give you popsicles.  You cant argue with that.

Lastly…because I think I picked on her a bit last year for not waking up:

179Rachel did, in fact, wake up this time to walk across the neighborhood with me. 🙂

I hope everyone has a great (and safe) rest of their 4th!

(And, as a sidenote, I got a new camera!  It’s SOOOOO spiffy!  And I’m sorry if the slideshow takes forever to load, this is my first time adding one, and it’s also my first time uploading pics from my DSLR, and I know the image sizes are bigger than my old point and shoot, so I’m still learning.  Forgive me!)
